Ensemble Pricing
Ensemble offers two plans: a free tier that lets you start writing immediately, and a Pro plan that removes limits and unlocks export.
Free Tier
The free tier is available to everyone with an Ensemble account. It includes:
- Unlimited screenplays
- Up to five pages per screenplay
- Cloud sync across devices
- Sharing via read-only link
- Real-time collaboration with invited collaborators
- Auto-formatting with industry-standard screenplay layout
You do not need an account to try Ensemble. Anonymous users can write and edit locally in their browser with no restrictions, but cloud sync, sharing, and collaboration require signing up.
Pro Plan
Pro costs $10 per month and unlocks everything in the free tier plus:
- Unlimited pages per screenplay
- Beta features before they are generally released
There are no annual contracts or commitments. You are billed monthly and can cancel at any time.
How to Upgrade
There are two ways to upgrade to Pro:
- Click Upgrade in the toolbar at the top of the editor.
- When you hit the five-page limit, a modal appears with an upgrade option.
Either path takes you to a Stripe checkout page where you enter your payment details. Once payment is confirmed, Pro features activate immediately.
Managing Your Subscription
You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from your account settings. When you cancel:
- You keep Pro features until the end of your current billing period.
- After that, your account reverts to the free tier.
- Your scripts are never deleted. They remain in your account.
- Scripts longer than five pages become read-only on the free tier. Trim them below five pages or resubscribe to continue editing.
- Export is unavailable on the free tier.
If you resubscribe later, all your scripts and their full content are restored immediately.
