Feature release: Non-AI Verified
Contests, producers, agents and teachers all want to know whether a script was written by a person, and nobody can tell from the finished pages. What can be shown is how the words arrived. Starting today, EnsembleWriter records that as you write, and signs it when you export.
What is recorded
Every stretch of your script carries one of five labels, attached the moment the text arrives:
- Typed in EnsembleWriter: entered in the editor, by keyboard, dictation or autocorrect.
- Pasted: pasted in from somewhere other than this script.
- Imported: from a file you uploaded or a sample script.
- Unverified: text our servers did not watch arrive, such as edits made offline.
- Before tracking began: already in the script when the record started.
Moving your own text around, undo and redo all keep the original label. Beside the labels, the record counts active writing time and how many people wrote in the script. It never records who they are.
The badge and the certificate
With the badge on, the title page of every PDF you export while signed in gets a small QR code and a short address, and your share page gets the same link. It opens a public page with the title, the page count, the share of each label, active writing time and the number of writers. No names and no script text, and nobody needs an account to read it.
Each certificate covers one exact version of the script, fingerprinted with SHA-256, and is signed with Ed25519. A technical reader can download the signed file and check it against our published key without trusting the page at all. Change a comma and the next export gets a new certificate.
Turning it on
Open the Non-AI Verified card at the bottom of the right sidebar to see the record and the Show the badge switch. It is on for new scripts and off for scripts written before today. Only a script's owner can change it, and it is free on every plan.
Older scripts read mostly as "before tracking began" until new pages are written. The record never guesses backwards.
What it does not prove
The record shows how the text reached EnsembleWriter. It does not show who thought of the words: someone could type in text from somewhere else. The certificate page says so, so a reader is never told more than the record can support. More about Non-AI Verified.
